HONG-KONG BOUNDARY CROSSING FACILITIES RECLAMATION WORKS - HKBCF
Protection of the HKBCF artificial island with 0.8m3 ACCROPODE™ units dedicated to the new border crossing facilities between Hong-Kong – Zhuhai – and Macau.
The northern part of the island which is the most exposed, is now protected by more than 16 000 ACCROPODE™ units. All of the ACCROPODE™ units were placed below the sea level.
CLI showed understanding of the Contractor’s needs. Problems solving mindset applied to this specific project.
Special features of the project
The ACCROPODE™ blocks were fabricated in China and shipped over the Pearl River to Hong-Kong. They were all placed underwater on a slope 2/1 with a maximum depth of 12 m.
Hydraulic conditions
- Depth of the structure -12m
- Length of the structure : 1.5 km
- The project has been developped by CHEC and tested in a physical modeling test performed in NHRI.
