The present port has a limited capacity and handles ships only up to 40,000 DWT. In order to significantly increase the capacity of the port, the Owner has engaged the development of a new harbour. The new port expansion project is design to cater for bigger ships up to 200,000 DWT Bulk carrier or 18,000 TEU’s Container Ship. The new port is built with a 16 meter deep basin, 400 meters berth and 20 hectares of cargo yard adjacent to it to accommodate conventional ships and cargoes.
