SWAN LNG Port Terminal Jafrabad, India: an ACCROPODE™ II project
SWAN LNG Port Terminal Jafrabad - India
The protection of the Jafrabad SWAN LNG port is provided by a 2000 m-long breakwater fitted with an ACCROPODE™II armour made of blocks ranging from 6m3 to 12m3.
CLI developed a great understanding of the Contractor’s needs and applied a problem-solving mindset to this specific project.
Special features of the project
Physical model tests of the 2000 m-long breakwater were performed at Artelia's hydraulic laboratory. Various tests were carried out: wave channel tests and basin tests.
The project requires different sizes of ACCROPODE™ II blocks ranging from 6m3 to 12m3.
Hydraulic conditions
- Max. seabed depth (toe): -18m
- Top of the crest: +13.4m
- MSL = 4.20m
- Hs= 7.7m
- Period= 12.91s
Construction Aspect
The breakwater was built using truss cranes from the ground.
- Total length of ACCROPODE™ II block protection: 2000 m
- ACCROPODE™ II 6 m3 : 2 094 units
- ACCROPODE™ II 10 m3 : 12,819 units
- ACCROPODE™ II 12 m3 : 806 units
