Rehabilitation works of the marina of International Yacht Club Bormes Les Mimosas- France
EIFFAGE has been appointed to rebuild the marina of the International Yacht Club in Bormes-Les-Mimosas with the collaboration of Corinthe Ingénierie. The construction of the structure includes the manufacture and installation of ACCROPODE™ II and ECOPODE™ units.
CLI developed a great understanding of the Contractor’s need and applied a problems solving mindset to this specific project.
Special features of the project
The rehabilitation of the marina includes the reconstruction of the 1.5 km long main breakwater, which will be protected by 800 ACCROPODE™ II blocks and 2000 ECOPODE™ blocks of 4 m3 and 6 m3, where the breakwater is most exposed to the swell.
- The use of ECOPODE™ blocks to give a natural character to the breakwater with a rocky appearance and a shade of brown concrete similar to riprap.
- The presence of a buried toe stop
Hydraulic conditions
- Cumulated length of ACCROPODE™ II and ECOPODE™ armouring: 750 m for the main breakwater
- Max. seabed depth (toe): -8 m MSL
- Top of the crest: +5.80 MSL
- Design wave Hs: 2 m
Construction Aspect
The blocks were placed with a crawler crane from the crest.
