The joint consortium of CCI CÔTE D'AZUR (leader), the city of Cannes, and the Cannes Pays de Lérins (CAPL) community has appointed TP SPADA, RAZEL-BEC, CAMPENON BERNARD, NEGRI & Fils consortium to repair and reinforce the Laubeuf breakwater and the departmental port of Cannes breakwater, from 2018 to 2020.

Special features of the project
The project consisted in the reconstruction of an existing damaged rockfill breakwater. The breakwater was rebuilt, and protected by a 4m3 single-layer ACCROPODE™ II block armour. CLI advised the client during the manufacture and installation of the blocks by going onsite for 5 site visits.
The TP SPADA, RAZEL-BEC, CAMPENON BERNARD, NEGRI & Fils consortium used an underwater drone and a high capacity excavator. The consortium also set up an aerial photogrammetry survey of the armour. The construction of the breakwaters was complicated by a turbulent winter, with frequent storms, and by the work stoppage imposed by the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.

- Design wave Hs: 4.10 m
Construction Aspect
In total, 4 110 ACCROPODE™ II units of 4.0 m3 were used to repair the breakwaters.
