The Client EMAAR Misr has awarded the Contract to Homan Group for the Marassi marina project, in the Sidi Abel Rahman Resort Community, Mediterranean North Coast – Egypt.
CLI provides its technical expertise and assistance with respect to the standards of the CORE-LOC™ technology.
CLI developed a great understanding of the Contractor’s need and applied a problems solving mindset to this specific project.
Special features of the project
The construction of the structure invloves the fabrication and placement of 10 200 CORE-LOC™ units.
Construction works include:
- Construction of the main breakwater protected with 1 m3 CORE-LOC™ units: Breakwater length: 920 m;
- Construction of a second breakwater protected with 1 m3 CORE-LOC™ units: Breakwater length: 240 m.
Hydraulic conditions

Cumulated length of CORE-LOC™ armouring: 900 m for main breakwater

Cumulated length of CORE-LOC™ armouring: 275 m for other breakwaters
- Max. seabed depth (toe): -4 m
- Top of the crest: +2.3 m
- Design wave Hs: 2 m
Construction aspect
The breakwaters were built from land. More than 10 000 CORE-LOC™ units of 1 m3 were placed using cranes.
